Traveling with Carter

Over the fourth of July weekend we went to stay with Aunt Patty and Uncle David. Carter did not sleep much in the car on the way up to their house and once he got there, he did not enjoy trying out the portable playyard crib, but boy did he like those cows and the wide open vistas! Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of all that good stuff because we were enjoying talking so much, but we did remember to take pictures at the end.

Bad parenting

Years from now when my son is addicted to cartoon network, I won't think this is so cute, but I had to agree with Damian this time.

Mommy and Jenka get Carter ready for his four month checkup

This morning I took some pictures of him waking up from his nap. He was smiling and whenever I smiled back and talked to him, he would bury his head. Later, Jenka and I snapped some shots while getting him ready for his Dr. appointment. We tried on the shoes that Alison gave him just to see what they looked like even though we knew they would be too big. Carter has grown a lot. He now weighs 14.6 lbs (50th%tile), and he is 26 and 1/2 inches long (90th%tile).

Willie- A Compassionate Cat

My cat is the best ever. He is so personable. He is even friendly to Carter who grabs his fur tightly and tries to pull it off his back. Every time Carter and I sit in front of the mirror, Willie comes and joins. Well, today I discovered he has a new resting spot- Carter's playyard behind the sofa. I was surprised when I first saw him jump in. I wasn't sure how he was going to get out, so I took him out. Later in the day when Carter started to cry while playing on his mat, Willie comes bounding out of Carter's playyard, jumps over the sofa, and runs to Carter's "rescue". It was so sweet. Luckily, the feeling is mutual between those two. Carter enjoys looking at me make faces in front of the mirror until Willie comes rolling up on us, then it's "forget you mommy, I want to grab the cat's fur, collect a good wad of it and then try and put it in my mouth."

Carter's playdate

Carter had a pretty lady friend named Casey come and visit him today. Even without her nap, she was still very sweet. She is nearly six months old and already starting to crawl! Carter was fascinated with her. They just stared at each other for awhile. He showed her his toys and bopped her on the head with his zebra and they had a good ol' time.

Carter has been having difficulty settling down for naps this week, but this morning I told him that he would have to change all that so he could be sociable for her and he did! He slept for 2 hours in the morning and was in a good mood when she got there.

Thank you Jackie for taking pictures!
