The latest and greatest

Well another month has past and time to record the highlights.

Carter is full force into pretend games. He comes up with very creative things to turn into lawn blowers and edgers, and goes around making the humming sound. My favorite is when he wraps the leftover rubber baby proofing table guard around himself like he's holding the blower. He also learned to pedal forwards and backwards on his tricycle recently, and is very proud of that. Gabriel loves to play ball, and this has made Carter more interested in playing with balls. Unfortunately, this will also mean that the "no throwing balls in the house" rule needs to be established. He is developing the concept of sharing and is doing a better job offering Gabe something of "his" to play with, however, he is still bad about snatching toys out of Gabe's hands saying, "that's mine!" Poor Gabe. He barely has any toys. All of his toys have been appropriated by Carter.

For this reason, I think Gabe is racing to catch up. He has hit a lot of milestones this month. He learned to crawl, got three teeth, and I swear, is very close to being able to say four words: kitty cat, ball, bubble and tickle. He's mild mannered most of the time, and plays well independently, but when he's had enough, boy does he let you know. He goes from 0 to shrieking in a second. He enjoys books with textures and fuzzy stuff to touch. He loves to be held and danced with, just like Carter does. He recently got good enough at sitting to where I started bathing him with Carter. Now it's virtually impossible to get them out of the bathtub without double meltdowns. They love to splash each other. He is trying new foods, but sometimes he chokes on new foods and spits them up. He is still spitting up after each feeding of milk (boo!) I hope we can get on table food soon.
