A surprisingly good afternoon

These days, a nice, easygoing afternoon is hard to come by. It seems that anything sparks a tantrum lately. It is hard to get Carter to eat, bathe, go to sleep, and get dressed. All the little tricks that used to work to get him to cooperate no longer work. But today, we spent time outside and aside from not eating much dinner, Carter was in good spirits.

Gabe enjoyed the sand as well. He has also been having little mini tantrums when he can't get what he wants. He has this scary habit of banging his head on the floor, which only makes things worse, but taking him outside cures all problems. I can't get over how fast he's growing! He is starting to stand up without needing to pull up on things and he is starting to talk. Here are the words he's saying:

wa dat
hi
bye bye
Carter
Dada
ball
top
hat
cat and kitty cat

Here is his list of favorite things:
spinning tops
being outside
the sandbox
Karen Katz books, Mr. Brown Can Moo, Moo Baa La La La, picture dictionaries
IKEA spinning egg chair
wearing hats
playing with pots and pans
his stuffed dog
the cat's water bowl
Playing, "I'm gonna get you"

What gorgeous boys you have! I bet they're enjoying the cooler weather. Luke certainly is.
