Well, this week has been fun. I went back to work and so far so good. I work more efficiently now that I have a reason to be home on time. Thankfully my worries of being too tired to enjoy him after work, they have not proven true yet. I am a zombie on the drive home, but once I get home and see his smiling face, I get my second wind.
He is busy trying a bunch of new things. Last week he pushed up on his hands, this week he tucked his knees under him and can balance in the crawling position a few seconds before collapsing on the floor. He has begun to try to drink water from a sippy cup with the lid and without it. He makes faces like he doesn't like it.
My favorite moment this week was when I noticed that each time I say the first part of the rhyme from Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See, he looks up in anticipation of the animal noise that I'll make. His favorites are still the duck and the cat, but this week he really seemed to like the "glub glub" sound of the fish. Brown Bear is one of the few books he lets me read to him, but at least he likes some books now. He used to kick and fuss everytime I started a book.
He also did well taking formula this week so I think I can start to do a little weaning. Next week I will venture into giving him cereal at nighttime.
